- Tours of the new space
- A family celebration 4-6
- Snacks

The City of Springfield is excited to celebrate updates to our Springfield Public Library. Improvements have been made to some of our busiest areas of the library to make collections, services and spaces more accessible and to improve the user experience.
Improvements we are celebrating:
- Three additional public meeting spaces for 6-8 people. This is in response to community demand.
- A new larger teen area with separated spaces for focused study and socializing
- Improved accessibility and collections access
- A new flow for the Kids and Tweens area, including easier checkout near this area for adults watching busy children
- An expanded book sale nook supported by our Friends of the Springfield Library and Museum
- An improved, more efficient front service desk for staff to serve the public
