LunchVox LIVE 2022: New World of Work - The Next-Gen Professionals
New World of Work: The Next-Gen Professionals
Join the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce for a local look at how next-gen professionals are managing, leading, and driving change in their organizations. This program will feature a presentation from Henry Fields, and a facilitated panel discussion of local businesses who have found success in recruiting next-gen talent.
From ASAE Foresight Works - Millennials are now the largest generational cohort in the workforce, and Generation Z is right behind them. These next-gen professionals are the future of our organizations and, as Gen Z begins to move into adulthood, the two generations are showing significant differences in their outlooks and priorities. Professions and businesses facing workforce shortages due to increasing demand for services or extensive boomer retirements place a high priority on attracting and retaining millennials in their workforce. Organizations will need to provide the kinds of training, mentoring, content, and other services that each of these upcoming generations value most, encouraging engagement that leads to loyalty.
Join us Friday, March 25 from 11:45 am - 1:00 pm for New World of Work: The Next-Gen Professionals.

Panel of Speakers:
Karen Lyons, Marketing Director, Oakmont Family
Karen loves living in Oregon! Going on bike rides on a nice sunny day or rafting the rogue river are some of her favorite things to do. When she is not busy enjoying the outdoors with her husband and daughters, she is spending her time at Oakmont Family Dental. She feels blessed to be part of their team as their marketing director. Oakmont Family Dental has her heart because she loves how they treat patients and staff, and the core of the business is to give back to the community and staff engagement. She is also proud to sit on the board for the Ronald McDonald Heartfelt House in Springfield, Oregon.
Ryan Williams, HR Specialist, 9Wood
Ryan has been with 9Wood for a year in a half and is the HR Manager. He spent the previous 15 years of his career in the Asset Protection and Loss Prevention world in retail. There are numerous skill overlaps between HR and LP so he decided to give HR a try! He has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Portland State University and is currently half way through an MBA program. 9Wood is one of the leading producers of custom wood ceilings for business and universities. They regard themselves as a second chance company and love giving folks an opportunity to work there that have made mistakes in their past. They are also an open book company that shares their entire financial story every month so every stakeholder knows where they stand as a company. You will never show up to work one day and the company will be closed down due to bankruptcy without you knowing.
Mark Harrington, Journeyman Carpenter, Recruiter, and Trainer, Chambers Construction
Mark Harrington is a journeyman carpenter, recruiter and trainer with Chambers Construction. He has been with Chambers since 2014 and brings to the table more than 45 years of construction industry experience.
