Learn United: Literacy Efforts In Springfield
Did you know that 65% of Springfield students aren’t reading at grade level by the end of third grade? Studies have shown that students who aren't meeting this important benchmark are 4 times more likely to not graduate from high school on time. Thankfully, there’s something we can do about it.
Join United Way online or in-person for this free community event to learn about the challenges keeping kids from reading proficiently, hear about some of the amazing work happening to support Springfield students, and learn how you can support literacy efforts for young readers.
At this event, we’ll hear about:
• The SMART Reading program
• Springfield Public Library programs
• Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
• and BookFest!
Appetizers provided, no host-bar available
