Metalföl
High energy hard Alt rock hailing from Eugene, Oregon, Metalföl unleashes a heavy sound reminiscent of White Zombie, Pennywise, Chevelle, Alice in Chains, Linkin Park, and Gary Numan, all thrown in a blender. Heavy distorted guitars combined with arpeggiated sequencers and vintage keyboard sounds, Metalföl blends old metal and Alt rock with punk rock, thrash-y electronics, and everything in between.
Metalföl started when lead singer/drummer Scott Adamo returned to playing music in 2018 after a long hiatus. Scott says, "It simply drew me back in." Scott began drumming at the age of fifteen, and from 1985 to 2003, he played with bands including BlackJack, King Black Acid, The Wipers, and Hitting Birth, to name a few. Opening for artists such as Everclear, Oasis, and Fugees, and appearing on numerous movie and TV show soundtracks, such as CSI Miami, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Zig Zag, Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, and The Mothman Prophecies.
Following an unsuccessful endeavor with a different line-up, Scott Adamo decided to take matters into his own hands and started penning songs on his own. All Metalföl material is written, recorded, and produced by Scott Adamo. “I spent seventeen years as a drummer in bands. I know I had some influence over the music, but when all you're doing is writing on the drums, it's hard to express oneself melodically. You can vocalize what you are hearing, but it can be a challenge to convey verbally what is in your head. For the first time, I could write my own songs, and, good or bad, no one could say a thing about it. It gave me a liberating feeling. The fact that my incredible band is encouraging me and contributing to the creative process has only improved the music. Their expertise and insight have been invaluable. A lot of people didn’t know I could play guitar, bass, keyboards, and sing. I think most people were surprised by it. Personally, I'm just relieved to be able to get these songs out of my system.”
Bringing along a new set of songs, Adamo linked up with bassist Morgan Tullar and guitarist
Bryan Rensema. A year later, Mark Davis, also known as M Deuce, would complete the group by joining the band on second vocal and samples. Each member adding a unique piece to the puzzle.
Bryans shredding guitar playing, vocal harmonies and unique chord choices, Morgans rock solid bass groves and Marks unique Hip Hop background and powerful voice would make the sound truly something unique.
“Oregon alternative rock band, Metalföl, released their debut single "A Good Line" on May 5th. The song starts with distorted guitar and a sample of laser-sounding synths. The track comes out the gate with an immediate high level of energy, giving listeners a sense of excitement. "A Good Line" features singing vocals, strong guitar riffs, and powerful synths that all work together to create a very full atmosphere.
Metalföl seems to take inspiration from classic rock and metal and blends these inspirations with a modern style that uses synths and current production. The 3-minute track keeps a dynamic feel throughout, with a fast pace and bright instrumentals that go to create an intense mood. Fans of alternative rock, classic rock, and metal will really enjoy "A Good Line". Metalföl shows a promising display of their sound on their debut track and gives listeners an excellent example of their sound to come!”
