Every job interview is a learning opportunity – and you can help make one of the first interviews a positive, confidence-building experience for a local student.
The Springfield Chamber is seeking 15 volunteer mock interviewers to help high school students practice their interviewing skills as they prepare to enter the workforce. These students are participating in the Youth Transition Program – a Springfield Public Schools career readiness initiative that helps students with developmental disabilities gain practical interview experience and develop the skills and confidence needed for meaningful employment.

As a volunteer, you'll conduct brief practice interviews, offer encouragement, and provide constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Suggested interview questions and a short orientation will be provided, so no previous interviewing experience is necessary.
Many of the students participating are overcoming barriers to employment and are eager to build the skills they'll need to succeed in the workplace. Your time and encouragement can help boost their confidence while reinforcing the Springfield business community's commitment to developing a strong, inclusive workforce.
