DESCRIPTION:The University of Oregon is hosting the Eugene regional competition of the 2025 Oregon Civics Bee\, a statewide civics competition for middle school students.\n\nPart of the National Civics Bee initiative\, the program challenges Oregon's 6th\, 7th\, and 8th graders to engage in their communities\, deepen their understanding of American democracy\, and propose solutions to local issues.\n\nStudent finalists were selected based on original essays identifying a community problem and proposing a solution rooted in founding principles and civic virtues. At the Eugene event\, these finalists will compete in a quiz-style round and present their ideas to a panel of judges.
