DESCRIPTION:The City of Springfield is thrilled to announce that the Mill Street Improvement Project is officially complete   and we're ready to celebrate!\n\nJoin us for a Grand Opening Bike Ride on Saturday\, November 22. We'll meet at the Lovely Caf  parking lot (111 Main Street) at 10:30 am and at 11 am take a fun\, community ride down the brand-new Mill Street. Bring your friends\, family\, and your favorite set of wheels   let's roll into this new chapter together!\n\nAbout the Project\n\nConstruction on Mill Street kicked off back in September 2024\, and it's been quite the journey. Mill Street is an important connector for homes and local businesses\, linking to Centennial Boulevard and Main Street   two of Springfield's busiest routes.\n\nBefore the upgrade\, the street was showing its age   cracked pavement\, tricky crossings\, and not-so-great conditions for people walking or biking. Between 2008 and 2015\, nine bike crashes happened along the stretch\, mostly from poor visibility and unpredictable traffic patterns.\n\nNow? That's all changing. The new Mill Street is safer\, smoother\, and way more welcoming for everyone   whether you're driving\, walking\, biking\, or catching the bus. We've added better crossings\, improved curb ramps\, and new bike-friendly infrastructure designed to keep everyone moving safely.\n\nSo hop on your bike and come see (and ride!) what's new. Let's make Mill Street shine!
