DESCRIPTION:Integral to the conversation around economic development is the topic of land use. Each city's and state's development code has direct implications on the types and amounts of housing and commercial space we can create. During LunchVox: Development Unpacked\, we'll be joined by three experts in the field of development to discuss the historical context of Oregon's land use system\, how the development code for the City of Springfield is evolving\, and how this impacts future development projects. As representatives of business and community we are invested in continued growth of our economy. Join the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday\, February 14th for an informed conversation on the local impacts of development code and legislation.\n\n\n\nProgram Panelists:\n\n	Phil Farrington\, Director of Planning & Real Estate Development\, CDC Management Corp.: Phil is a New Orleans native\, but has lived in Oregon long enough to have webbed feet. He moved from Texas to Springfield to serve as parks planner for Willamalane\, and has worked in the public\, private and non-profit sectors in planning and development for more than 25 years. He is planning and real estate development director for CDC Management Corp.\, and serves on the Springfield Chamber board and executive committee.\n	John Brown\, Broker\, Evans\, Elder\, Brown\, & Seubert\, Inc.: Born in Eugene. Former Appraiser for 30 years. MAI designation. Currently a Broker with Evens\, Elder\, Brown\, & Seubert. Various boards and commissions (EWEB\, Police Commission\, Willamette Family\, etc.) Involved with many development projects throughout Lane County.\n	Mark Rust\, Planner\, City of Springfield: Mark Rust has been working for the City of Springfield for the last two and a half years and is the Senior Planner leading the Springfield Development Code Update Project\, to update the entire development code for Springfield to support efficient\, timely\, and clear development review. He is also currently on the LCDC Rules Advisory Committee for the new Middle Housing legislation (HB 2001 and 2003)\, as well as the state Middle Housing Model Code Technical Advisory Committee.
