However\, recently announced tariffs have been widely challenged as going too far. Join us for a discussion of the current trade landscape. \n\n\n\nSpeaker:\n\nChris Eyler\, Executive Director\, Northwest Region\, US Chamber of Commerce.\n\n\n\nIn October of 2013\, Chris Eyler assumed the position of Executive Director\, Northwest Region for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In this capacity\, he represents the Chamber throughout the states of Alaska\, Idaho\, Montana\, Oregon\, Washington\, and Wyoming. \n\nIn this role\, he is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with lawmakers and their staffs\, creating and cultivating relationships with local and state chambers\, and activating U.S. Chamber members on key policy issues. He also develops grassroots legislative strategies and identifies emerging issues in the region to enhance the legislative agendas of and provide services to Chamber members.\n\nPrior to joining the Chamber\, he served as Education Counsel on the Senate Committee on Health\, Education\, Labor\, and Pensions\, where he advised Ranking Member Mike Enzi (R-Wyoming) on post-secondary education and national service issues. With nearly 15 years of legislative experience\, he has also worked as a legislative assistant handling health care\, education\, Social Security\, and telecommunication issues for Sens. Frank Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Conrad Burns (R-Montana)\, as well as for Rep.
