To rappel\, REGISTER ONLINE and raise $1\,000!\n\n \nAbout CASA of Lane County: Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lane County is a powerful voice for children who are in the child welfare system due to abuse and neglect. CASA volunteers work to prevent children from being re-abused by facilitating their move through the court and child protective services systems as quickly as possible into safe\, permanent homes. Lane County has one of the highest rates of children in foster care in Oregon: last year\, nearly 1\,000 children spent at least one night in the Child Welfare system. All of these children have suffered from neglect or abuse at the hands of their parents. Resources currently allow CASA to serve 460 children a year\, just over 40% of the need in our county. Without the powerful voice of an advocate\, children too often return to unsafe homes or languish in long-term foster care \, risking future abuse or neglect. The funding secured through this event goes to directly support children across Lane County with the powerful voice of advocacy\, raising levels of hope leading to positive\, healthy futures.
